If we have an Upwork account in one country, but would like to use it in Chats from another one, how does Upwork consider this attempt as from the IP of the original account?

As you granted access to GigRadar CRM/Chats via an Upwork Key previously, this means we don’t use your login or password - authorization is handled through OAuth.

OAuth (Open Authorization) is the official authorization system provided by Upwork. It allows you to:

  • Log in through Upwork without sharing your username or password with third parties (such as Chats.gigradar.io).

  • Grant limited access to your account (for example, access to messages only - without any payment permissions).

Furthermore, when you connect your account, you legally grant access to it, and all responses are then handled through the freelancer account you’ve added.

When working through Chats, the IP address doesn’t matter, since access occurs from the server where Chats is hosted, via the API key.

Also, when we issue an API key, we specify that it’s for a web application. Accordingly, it operates from a dedicated server with a different IP address - which is completely normal.
