GigRadar's Boosting feature offers an intelligent way to optimize your connects spending on Upwork, ensuring that your proposals are more visible for projects with better potential outcomes.

By activating and configuring the Boosting feature in the Auto Bidder settings for each scanner, you can effectively control your expense on Upwork while increasing your chances of winning more jobs. You can also keep an eye on your estimated expense chart and analyze the effectiveness of your scanners by using the CPR (Cost Per Reply) metric on the dashboard, ultimately maximizing the benefits of the Boosting feature.

Introduction

This topic provides an overview and instructions for using GigRadar's Boosting feature, which is designed to optimize your Upwork connects spending and increase your chances of winning more jobs. The Boosting feature is available to all active GigRadar customers.

Activating Boosting

  1. From your GigRadar account, navigate to the scanners section, and select the scanner that you want to apply Boosting to.

  2. Click the Auto Bidder tab for the selected scanner.

  3. Scroll down to the Boosting Settings section and turn ON the Boosting toggle to activate the Smart Boost feature for the selected scanner.

Configuring Boosting

  1. After you have activated Boosting, under the Boosting Settings section, select the Boost Type. You can select any one of the following:

    • Smart Boost: This is based on the GigRadar Score™ and the number of connects that you have specified in the Maximum Boost field. For more information about what is the GigRadar Score™, see What is the GigRadar Score in the scanner’s Preview Results?. This is how it works:

      • If the GigRadar Score is less than 50%, no additional connects are used to boost the proposal.

      • If GigRadar Score is equal to 100%, all the additional connections specified in the Maximum Boost field are used to boost the proposal.

      • If GigRadar Score is equal to 75%, half of the number of connects specified in the Maximum Boost field are used to boost the proposal.

    • Constant: This works similar to how Upwork boost works. You will need to add the number of connects in the Maximum Boost field, and the system will allocate these connects to each bid.

  2. In the Maximum Boost field, enter the maximum connects that you want to send additionally to boost your proposals. This allows you to adjust the aggressiveness of your expense on Upwork.

🎯 To determine the value to enter in this field, we recommend that you view the following metric:

👉 Check the Average Auction Prices to analyze how much other freelancers are bidding on an average in 30 minutes. This will help you to determine the value you may need to add in the Maximum Boost field.

👉 Check the Connects Expense (see the section below on Viewing Estimated Expense Chart) to monitor your overall expense and make adjustments to your Maximum Boost field value, if required.

  3. Click Save.

View Estimated Expense Chart

  1. From your scanner’s Auto Bidder tab, scroll down to the Connects Expense section.

Here you can view the estimated expense chart for each of the submitted proposals. The chart displays both the base expense and the extra expense when you use the Boosting feature.

Use this chart to monitor your overall expense and make adjustments to your Maximum Boost field value, if required.

Analyze Boosting Effectiveness with CPR Metric

  1. From your GigRadar account, click on the Dashboard.

  2. In the Scanner Breakdown section, you can view the CPR (Cost Per Reply) metric for each scanner.

The CPR metric helps you analyze the effectiveness of your scanners that use the Boosting feature. You can monitor your CPR metric to ensure the right balance between spending on boosting and receiving replies from clients.
