Connecting takes about a minute. You approve access on Upwork's own page, copy one link back into GigRadar, and you're done.
Where to start
You can start from either place. Both run the same flow.
Profiles page: on the freelancer's card, hover over the connection icon (it says "Not connected") and click Connect. To connect a freelancer who is not on your agency roster, click Connect freelancer at the top of the Profiles page.
Settings > Upwork Connected Account: click Authorize Account to connect a new account, or Reconnect on an account card that needs attention.
Step by step
In the window "Connect this freelancer's Upwork account", click Open Upwork. A new tab opens with Upwork's authorization page.
Log in with the freelancer's own personal Upwork account. Agency or client accounts won't work.
Approve access. This lets GigRadar submit proposals as this freelancer, sync their proposals and sync their Connects balance.
Upwork sends you to a page that doesn't load. This is expected. Nothing has gone wrong.
Copy the entire address from your browser's address bar.
Go back to GigRadar, paste it into the window and click Connect.
When it works, you'll see "All set! You're ready to go" and "Proposals can now be submitted as this freelancer".
After connecting
GigRadar syncs the freelancer's profile in the background. Until that first sync finishes, the card shows "Setting up your profile" and bidding is not available yet. This usually takes a short while.
Before you connect
Set the freelancer's Upwork profile to Public in their Upwork profile settings. Otherwise GigRadar can't sync their profile details.
Each freelancer can be connected to only one GigRadar team. If the account is connected to another team, disconnect it there first.
It's best if the freelancer connects their own account. Send them the invite rather than logging into their Upwork account for them.
Is my password safe?
Yes. GigRadar never sees or stores your Upwork password. You log in on Upwork's own page, and only Upwork issues the permission.
