When a scanner bids as a freelancer, it uses that freelancer's own Upwork Connects. GigRadar shows the same balance you'd see on Upwork, so you always know whether the freelancer can bid.
Where to see it
Profiles page: each connected freelancer's card shows a small pill with the Upwork logo and the balance. It turns red when the balance is 0.
Scanner settings: the balance appears in the status line under the freelancer picker.
The balance refreshes automatically. To see the latest number right away, click the refresh button on the freelancer's Profiles card.
How Connects are used
A proposal is only sent if the freelancer's balance covers it.
Unlike Apply as agency, GigRadar can't buy Connects automatically for a freelancer account.
If the balance isn't enough, the bid is not sent.
Running low?
Buy Connects on Upwork, in the freelancer's account.
Click the refresh button on the freelancer's Profiles card in GigRadar.
There is no low-balance alert for freelancer connections yet, so check the balance regularly, especially on busy scanners.
